Michael Jordan Gives Kobe Advice on Fade-Away

By | February 14, 2012|

There was a time when Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan were both in the NBA, one with the Los Angeles Lakers and the other with the Chicago Bulls. Although at that time Kobe was just starting to get used to the NBA life and Jordan was on his way out, the older mentor could not let an opportunity to mentor the youngster slip away.

This time around, Kobe asked Jordan how to improve his fade-away jumper, something that both players ended up perfecting. Bryant wanted to figure out a way to feel the defense when turning around on a jump-shot, and Jordan told the young kid from Lower Merion, “You should feel the defense with your legs.”

It is safe to say that Kobe took the advice and turned it into one of the toughest shots to defend in today’s NBA.
