Magic Tweets – Then Deletes – About Lakers and Dwight Howard

Laker legend Magic Johnson tweeted that the Lakers should contact the Orlando Magic, presumably concerning Orlando center Dwight Howard. After the tweet, however, Johnson erased it from his account. This has started several conspiracy theories as to why Johnson deleted the tweet in the first place.

I agree with Gotcha. If there’s a problem with a players attitude there’s a problem with a player. These guys are pros. If you can’t act like one or play like one then you don’t deserve to be one

      Agreed.
Even though it was L.O. and Bynum who got sent out of the Lakers’ finale this year. Barnes needs to go. He’s an average player, with an attitude that will get the Lakers too many technicals.

Wow!  Have you been watching the Lakers in the past three seasons?  Bynum has a history of injuries, since entering the league out of high school.  What does that tell you?  The Lakers have an excellent opportunity to trade Bynum for Howard now while he is walking on both legs.  What will happen if Bynum is injured this upcoming season, which is a huge possibility?  There is no insurance policy for the Lakers.  With Howard, you have one of the most well-conditioned big men in the game.  He takes pride and puts hard work into staying fit.  In my opinion, Kupchak and Buss (Jerry and Jim) should pull the trigger soon.  Besides, Howard and Kobe are good friends.  Kobe never did get along with Bynum.  Chemistry will also play a factor here, which the team lacked towards the end of last season.

Instead of Bynum for Howard? What about Pau for Howard?

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=879720433 Maria Krystle Miranda

Nooooo… Pau helped the Lakers win those back to back titles. We need to get CP3 and we need a stronger bench. Ditch Barnes, Blake!

      • Andrescandelario23

Trade Barns,Blake or Artest Not Odem He’s Nice and he’s a big man who can play every position he is some what like keven Durant.. Plus he put in alot of work for the team And He Hustles and works hard… Bynum is always hurt, Blake doesnt do anythinf at all, Artest isn’t good he sucks, Barn hasnt done anything besides make us look bad…

    • Olivergleenamarkegonio

      are
you stupid or you just have a bone head… pau gasol is the main reason
why the lakers came back to the finals and become a championship team
caliber in this past 4 season.. i think if pau didn’t come to the lakers
maybe they will not be a championship caliber anymore…  bynum is
prone to injury it’s time to replace him and he is not good as pau gasol
foot work and and skill the way pau gasol play… we don’t have any assurance to bynum next year maybe he will get injured again every year  he is always injured..

The Lakers should trade Pau and LO for Love and the 4th pick.  Pau would be reunited with Rubio.  At the same time, the Lakers could send Bynum to Orlando for Dwight.  The 4th pick from MN would be used to draft a PG like Kemba Walker (or Brandon Knight).  At least, the Lakers would have injected some youth and athleticism while making a gradual transition post-Kobe era.

The new starting lineup would look like the following:

PG – Kemba Walker (or Brandon Knight)SG – Kobe BryantSF – Ron ArtestPF – Kevin LoveC – Dwight HowardAs a side note, the Lakers must acquire some talented shooters for the bench in order for this lineup to work.  Defensively, this ideal starting five would create nightmares for opposing teams.  Perhaps, Blake will actually have a better year under a new system with Coach Mike Brown.  Barnes, Fisher, and hopefully Brown would come off the bench.Oh well…Let’s see…Right now, it’s wishful thinking….

    • eley forever

Jack, i don’t think that the trade of pau and l.o. in exchange for kevin love and the 4th pick would be possible knowing the salary of the 2 forwards of eley is around 26M while k.l. is 4M? better think of package that would balance the salary equation.Probably trading pau on kevin plus the 4th pick plus some twolves contracts is workable…
