The Lakers are playing their best but only down 13 points.Lakers can still comeback and win this game.Just gotta keep plugging away at the lead.I am loving what i am seeing from the team tonight.

    Go Lakers!

  • LakersHeatBeef

    Lakers cut the lead to 8 points.OKC 46-LAL 38.

  • LakersHeatBeef

Come on Lakers beat the hell out of OKC.Kobeeeeee time baby.

  • Downtoearth2

The Lakers will lose .D’Antoni system isn’t working, it hurting the players.

  • Zimmeredge

wake up lakers fan… be realistic it’s a blow out…. we shouldn’t be authorized to play in such circumstances.

  • Lakers Fan

Durant is on pace to have a 40 possibly 50 point game. 66 points at the half, there is no way you can win giving up that many points. Defense is terrible once again.

    • Zimmeredge

as always: when Gasol is on the trade block he always delivers great performance and have a lot of motivation…. weird!

  • LakersHeatBeef

Nothing can save the Lakers tonight,it’s a blowout.Lakers crapped out tbh.

    • Zimmeredge

nothing surprizing if you’re aware of our critical situation.

  • LakersHeatBeef

Yeap Kobe has a ton of assists but the Lakers defense is layup practice bad.

  • Daryl Peek

Painful to watch, all about the rebounds or lack there of

    • Jim213

What did you expect Daryl, with no starting PG or backup, aside of depth at the starting rotation. Ball rotation has improved but Meeks and a few others have missed plenty of shot opportunities.

Kobe’s playing good as it seems his touch is starting to return but the balls aren’t falling in. He’s getting a better feel of the roster and as he does he’ll be in a better position to either take his shots while being able to distribute the ball. But it’s management’s blah blah

      • kobe24

Part of me just wants to tank this season away, develop all the younger guys (Kelly, Henry, etc) and let Kobe get some rest and just see how season goes and get a good draft pick + 1/2 good FA (not Melo please) and make a run for it….next year ain’t gonna look much prettier

        • Zimmeredge

look at our december’s schedule… tanking starts tonight :)

          • Jim213

Not yet if they’re a few games under 500 avg towards the end of the month they’ll have 5 to 6 games (if correct) to go over 500 but from then if they can’t improve from being average they’ll likely miss the playoffs.

Again a true PG (especially a starter) would’ve made a big difference today given players would’ve been switched to better positions. The coach just killed the mojo of this team with his rotation. the 1,4, and 5 better addressed addressed down the line otherwise the future will look bleak for the long term.

          • Zimmeredge

the coach? I don’t think D’antoni is the one to blame.
few games under? Which games you think we will win in all honesty?

4 games like that? Henry and Meeks will limp all around the place. who will play? :)

          • kobe24

Yeah, I agree a true PG would look great but…we aren’t gonna have a true PG till…maybe next week at the earliest.

And I don’t like MDA but not going to lie, he did a fairly good job keeping the team at 50% before Kobe came back and the PG’s got injured. If, the Lakers somehow, somewhere end this month with a 50%+ positive record then perhaps they could make some noise in the playoff….

Can we just appoint Seth Curry and see how he does lol…kid got talent haha

        • e3bonz

Wasn’t Melo trying to recruit Rondo to NY

      • Daryl Peek

PG plight was an issue but the defense and rebounding is more of the problem. Everyone was missing shots

        • Jim213

True but have to look at the 4 and 5 positions mostly since they’ve driven by the bigs like a 24 hr drive thru.

          • Daryl Peek

Agreed. The second unit had a moment where they had that energy but OKC is just too good

          • e3bonz

Didn’t OKC widen their lead when the second unit came in?

          • Daryl Peek

I do remember the team cutting the lead down to 6 when Young and other subs came in as Gasol and Kobe sat in the first half. They did stretch it back up to 15 by the half.

    • Zimmeredge

i told you. the Lakers can’t struggle more than five minutes against okc with the roster current lack of depth. the only problem is rebound?

      • Jim213

Nah, they lack a few starters at key positions being the 1 and 4 and possibly 5 (Gasol). But it’s about the rotation IMO that the coach has placed that has lost it’s mojo given this could’ve been a more competitive game though still had OKC winning.

        • Zimmeredge

with Blake and Farmar in it’s a closer game but they have too much quality!
          we lack our bench mob.
          it’s a… shootaround tonight :)

          • Jim213

If you watch the game right now players have slowed the game down given the inexperience in being able to develop plays while in transition. The bench mob is still there but they don’t have the cohesiveness given their hurting in certain positions. They feed off of one to the other too.

          • Zimmeredge

i don’t think we will slow the pace down even with kobe getting back. actually, i think kobe will be better full court, full speed. no need to slow the pace down or set a half court offense because he can’t make the difference on his own.

          • Jim213

The pace has slowed given the lack of a PG to distribute the ball as IMO that’s when the team plays at it’s best with this roster.

          • Daryl Peek

Kobe pushed the pace best he could. He’s not as quick as Blake or Farmar and his reads are entirely different. This is gonna be tough. The main thing that worries me is the lost passion. PG or no PG I need to see more fight out of them. Pride!!!!

      • Daryl Peek

Were down by 20 on the boards. Fix that this is a much closer game. Defense also

        • Zimmeredge

          aaaaaaaaaaah “defense also” ;)

You see When I see a guy like Ibaka playing against us and I look at our best inside player: Pau Gasol… I understand why the Lakers are so limited. Gasol is really crafty. he’s got game. but he’s so against that kind of guy.

btw, we can see the difference between a motivated Gasol and demotivated Gasol and I hate him so much (i love him too) because of that: he is choosing his games. he knows that he sucked last couple of games. he had some terrible words (memphis, d’antoni’s offense) and he knows he might be traded…. then out from no where? Pau Gasol almost got the perfect game in just 23 minutes…

          • Daryl Peek

He was only marginally better tonight IMO. I must admit, I’m over Gasol at this point. His crying has brought the team chemistry down. His moping while others were fighting when Kobe was out really pissed me off and I don’t think I can get past that

          • Zimmeredge

smart move from Pau: he knows the lakers will struglle to make it to the post season. so he drops a bomb via press on D’antoni. Classic. It works a 100% of the time. It rallies the fans around him (because the fans don’t love MDA).
I think he doesn’t expect the FO to make a move against MDA so he is deliberately trying to get traded.
he gets trade to the grizz (remember he loves the grizz :) ) and goes away from LA as a martyr. And as the Lakers continues to get lower in the standings, Pau Gasol is having multiple career games

          • Daryl Peek

WOW! Someone is in a movie script mood tonight? *Castle blank stare*

          • Zimmeredge

            it’s not a mood it’s almost a profession ;)
you must admit that we all know, by heart, the famous “it’s the coach’s/someone else’s fault” when the player are not playing at their top level. lack of objectivity and of course high egos come into the mix.

          • e3bonz

A half time interview Pau said his game problems were mental. I think Kobe and MDA kicked him in the butt after his whining comments and that got him motivated, as he played better tonight.

          • Daryl Peek

I’m a fan of Pau and I hope your right but at this point I’m leaning towards seperation

    • Daryl Peek

Were down by 20 on the boards. Fix that this is a much closer game. Defense also

  • LakersHeatBeef

Lakers getting a lesson in getting crushed tonight.

  • Sylvia Ross

Defense wins games. d’antoni , is sorry. I wish he would just disappear!

  • Daryl Peek

The thing I’m really disappointed about is the sudden loss of heart? There’s no fight in them anymore? I guess Blake and Farmar were the guts of this roster?

OKC punched us in the mouth all night and we never really punched back?!? That is disheartening!

  • rik

Trade gasol for zach randolph which would let pau finish his career with marc. Then trade nash for lowry since the raptors are willing to dump him. Also if nash retires after the trade then it would be even better. Call them mitch!!
