The Lakers will come into their 2010-2011 as the reigning back to back champs. On Tuesday night October 26th, the Lakers will kick off their season against the Houston Rockets. But before tip-off, L.A. will hang their 16th championship banner at the Staples Center and receive their championship rings.

The Houston Rockets will finally have Yao Ming to play a regular season game. Yao last played against the Lakers May 8th 2009 in the playoffs in which the Lakers won in a 7 game series. Yao’s minutes will be limited, but just having him on the floor with players like Kevin Martin, Luis Scola, and 2009-2010 Most Improved Player Aaron Brooks makes their team a bit tougher for the Lakers.

Kobe’s knee is still in pain, so his minutes will be limited throughout the season. In a recent article, it is said that Phil Jackson wants Bryant to be ready for the playoffs.

Kobe, Pau, and the rest of the Lakers are trying to chase a three-peat season. With the great additions of Matt Barnes, Steve Blake, and two solid rookies Ebanks and Caracter, the Lakers are sure to have a stronger and better team to compete this season.

Lakers fans, we celebrated our time in June. Now it’s another season, another beginning. There’s much more competition this year than last. It’s up to us Lakers fans to show how much we want this three-peat. Show your pride! LET’S GO LAKERS!
