The best scenario will be to trade our pic # 7 and St.Nash to Philadelphia for their pic # 10 and 2 more second round pics – # 32 and # 37.

Other option is to trade the pic to Phoenix for pics # 14 and # 17.

And one more option. Denevr wants to trade their pic # 11 for established veteran.
We can sign Pau Gasol and trade him for that pic.
There are few possible options to upgrade this team through the draft , then add two or tree solid free agents to compliment our own FA’s, which are going to be asked back.

If Lakers FO was smart like the Spurs FO then they would never have been a crappy lottery team.Honestly of the Lakers FO knew what they were doing they would have this roster right now with a great coach. They could have kept Chris Paul if they would have changed up the trade offer and sweet talked Stern.

This is what could have been.SMH
    PG Chris Paul+Steve Blake
    SG Kobe Bryant+Gerald Green+Andrew Goudelock
    SF Trevor Ariza+Devin Ebanks+Chris Douglas-Roberts
    PF David West+Jordan Hill+Ryan Kelly
    C Dwight Howard+Robert Sacre

I will brake it down here, so everyone can understand our best chances.
    1. We sign Pau and trade him to Denver for their pic # 11 and select PF Dario Saric from Croatia.
    2. We trade our pic # 7 to Phoenix for their pics # 14 ( we select PG Elfrid Payton, if available, if not SF D.McDermott.) and pic # 17 ( we select center Jusuf Nurkic ).
    3. We trade our pic # 7 and St.Nash to Philadelphis for their pic # 10 ( we select PF Dario Saric or PG Elfrid Payton) and second round pics # 32 (we select center Walter Tavares from Cap Verde) and pic # 39 ( we select PF Jarnell Stokes ).

Any combination of 2 trade scenarios will give the Lakers 3 first round pics to build around. I consider 7’3″ center Walter Tavares as a steal in the 1-st round.
We can have this roster for the new season.
    PG – E.Payton (J.Farmar)
    SG – L.Stephenson (Bazemore)
    SF – K.Bryant (N.Young)
    PF – D.Saric ( R.Kelly )
    C – W.Tavares ( J.Hill )
