Lakers Video: Lonzo Ball Finds Brandon Ingram With An Alley Oop
Three Takeaways From The Lakers Win Over The Kings
Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

Lonzo Ball came to the Los Angeles Lakers with more hype than perhaps any second overall pick ever, thanks in part to his status as a hometown kid as well as his phenomenal ability to pass the ball. He starts his Los Angeles career in the Las Vegas Summer League, where he will join last year’s second pick, Brandon Ingram, as well as Ivica Zubac, Kyle Kuzma, and Josh Hart.

Ball is renowned for his pinpoint-accurate passing, and Ingram has long arms that seem to go on forever, so the Lakers decided to open up Summer League with a lob play designed to get Ingram an easy bucket. The play worked to perfection, and Ball’s pass couldn’t have been any better. Check it out below, courtesy of the Lakers Twitter account and Spectrum SportsNet:

It was an outstanding moment to kick off Summer League and Lonzo’s professional career. It showed off his passing and vision as well as Ingram’s length and athleticism.

IT may have been just the first play of his career, but it undoubtedly served the purpost of getting Lakers fans excited about the possibilities ahead.
