The Los Angeles Lakers have yet to hire a new head coach with NBA free agency underway and superstars Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James already making their decisions.

With the team missing out on landing the best players on the open market, the team was thought to have already hired the next leader on the sidelines. Unfortunately, a decision has yet to be made and as a result, the team remains without a head coach heading into the 2014-15 NBA season.

According to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, Mitch Kupchak and Jim Buss will meet with Byron Scott once again:

Recently, the Lakers let it be known that the team would try to hire a head coach in the next couple of weeks. With things starting to come together in free agency, the team getting closer to hiring a head coach was expected, but there’s still no telling when a new head coach will get named.

Scott is one of many head coaches that have either interviewed or have been mentioned as a candidates for the vacant position. Mike Dunleavy Jr. is also is a coach that has interviewed with the team, but all indications point to Scott being Mike D’Antoni’s successor.
