Lakers Select Darius Morris With 41st Overall Pick

With the 41st overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Los Angeles Lakers selected Darius Morris from the University of Michigan. During his sophomore year with the Wolverines, Morris averaged 15 ppg and 6.7 apg. Morris is a Los Angeles native, so the young man will return to his home-town to play for the Lakers

Morris is a great floor general who has exceptional floor vision; if the Lakers do indeed sign him, he will provide great energy off the bench.

The Lakers do not usually sign their second round draft picks, but they did give roster spots to rookies Devin Ebanks and Derrick Caracter last season.

Mitch Kupchak said he will most likely not sign any draft picks, but if Morris impresses the franchise during training camp he may join the defending Pacific Division champions next season.
