Lakers Rumors: Team Interested in Free Agent Mickael Pietrus

The Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly interested in signing free-agent guard Mickael Pietrus in an effort to improve their sub-par bench. The reserves have been very inconsistent this season and even though players like Antawn Jamison and Jodie Meeks played well in recent games, the front office needs to bring in talented reserves.

According to Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports, the Lakers have inquired about Pietrus along with other free-agent guards.

Pietrus last played for the Boston Celtics and was an important piece to their deep playoff run last season. Pietrus has the ability to knock down shots from the perimeter and can also lock down on opponents’ top scorers. The Lakers already have a dangerous defensive lineup, but adding Pietrus will only make them stronger.

Last season with the Celtics, Pietrus averaged 6.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 33 percent shooting from the three-point arc.

Their players is just fine. The problem is the D and the Offense. Focus on the Defense and Offense, don’t focus with the trades. Actually the Lakers has the best first Five.

yeah the lakers do have the best starting lineup but the problem is there bench not their starters and in my opninon petrius would be perfect for this system becuz he can shoot the 3 and also play d. He could backup artest and jamison could move to the 4 and hill to the 5, our bench would be Blake, Meeks, Petrius, Jamison, Hill

      • Trust

I’ve been saying they shud get him along time ago him and delonte west keep Blake on the injured reserve list move Darius odom and or earl Clark to the d league to get delonte west as well

yea thats what i was saying to just get west off waivers he can score the ball and is wayyyy better than blake i dont even know why we still have him id rather have morris than blake

The Lakers other then Kobe, D12 & Nash are a team of players no one else wanted… Hello thats why the bench is worthless most of the time… You could if you were unable to trade Pau move Hill into the starting forward spot & Jamison into the small forward starting spot &put Peace & Pau onto the bench & hope they can perform from that spot..Peace is doing a good job lately & if the spotlight is off of him maybe Pau can shoot & play a little better….

Pietrus played in Phoenix in a similar system before he went to Boston. Wasn’t that impressive, but seemed to play better in Boston. Raja Bell might be a better option. Not sure.

That is good move….lakers need a good backup ….get also bell.

5: Howard 4:Jamison 3:MWP 2:BLACK MAMBA 1: Nash and the bench will be 5: Gasol he must be the 6th man for this offense. 4:Hill 3:Pietrus 2: Meeks 1: Morris or Blake. Can I have a feedback?

  • Jeloo
