Lakers Rumors: Pau Gasol Aware His Career With Lakers May Be Over

NBA: Playoffs-San Antonio Spurs at Los Angeles LakersDuring the second and final day of exit interviews at the team practice facility in El Segundo on Tuesday, Pau Gasol took a seat and discussed the past season, and his future. Ever since Gasol was traded by the Lakers (before returning after the league rescinded the trade) in December 2011, his standing with the team has been rocky at best. Not because the team wants to move Gasol, but more because he’s their most valuable and movable asset.

When speaking with reporters, Gasol acknowledged once again that he understands the future is uncertain, and that he may never suit up for the Lakers again.

“The future is uncertain. There’s no doubt about it. It’s a possibility that I could be gone and there’s a possibility that I could stay. I don’t know the exact percentages of it. But, I’m prepared for either way.”

In typical Pau fashion, he was nothing but professional when discussing his future with the Lakers. Even though he’s mentioned many times he wants to remain with the Lakers and enjoys being a member of this team, he has accepted the fact that it’s out of his hands.

However, there’s one guy that still wants Gasol back next season – Kobe Bryant. During his own exit interview, Kobe lobbied hard for the team to hang onto Gasol next season, but did say he understands that tough decisions need to be made.
