Lakers Rumors & News Recap: With the Good Comes the Bad

By | October 23, 2012|

Good news today with an injury update on Jordan Hill; the Lakers forward should be playing against the Clippers this week after suffering from a herniated disk two weeks ago. Hill’s back injury didn’t require surgery and is considered a minor injury in comparison to what Howard went through over the summer. Part of the Lakers bench, and one of their strongest options, the Lakers couldn’t afford to not have Jordan on the court at the start of season.

Despite the exciting turn of events for Hill, two of the Laker’s starters are out and will most likely not play in tomorrow’s game.

Kobe Bryant received an injury in Sunday’s preseason game against the Kings. Here, he strained and bruised his right foot. Although at first the injury didn’t look significant, is has become enough of a problem to make sure Kobe will not be playing this coming game. Listed as day to day, fans still hope for a fast Kobe recovery.

Howard will also miss this divisional preseason showdown with the Clippers on Wednesday due to soreness in his back. Uh oh. Coming out strong on Sunday with 19 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks, Howard may have overexerted himself. It is much better to miss this game and play it safe when it comes to his back injury than try and play even a bit sore. Good news though; the superstar center is expected to  start against the Kings on Thursday at Valley View Casino Center in San Diego. Although this could change, it’s a good sign for Lakers fans.

Amy Halvorsen brings her A game this week, as she talks about the latest happening on and off the court with the Lakers. Check out her video for some Lakers facts, talk about team pranks, and overall preseason highlights.

Thank GOD it’s the preseason the Lakers can’t afford for Kobe and D12 to be hurt during the regular season. Hopeful Jordan Hill will bring some energy off the bench

    • Kiet Anh Nguyen

To be honest I would rather the Lakers sit him too so he won’t end up with a sore back like Dwight Howard!

  • Joelsky

I see another lose game for Laker= cry

    • Kiet Anh Nguyen

Why exactly do you care so much about the preseason? Would you rather go 0-9 and have all the starters healthy for the regular season? Or would you want to win all 9 preseason games and having Steve Nash and/or Dwight Howard and/or Kobe Bryant sit on the bench for the next 3 months nursing injuries?

  • Kiet Anh Nguyen

Shit… Howard’s back scared me! Kobe’s foot and Nash’ ankle too! Can’t we just sit all the starters? Who cares if it’s the Clippers? They won both preseason games last year and lost the regular season’s series against us! Just sit everyone! We don’t need anyone getting injured, especially the starters! If they want the starters to play, just play MWP and call it enough!
