Lakers Rumors: L.A. Looking at Andre Miller for Point Guard Help?

It’s no secret that the Lakers are thin at the point guard position this season. The recent injury to Steve Blake certainly doesn’t help matters much, either.

Now, according to Chris Tomasson of Fox Sports, it’s being reported that the Lakers might be interested in veteran point guard Andre Miller Miller is not happy coming off the bench in Denver, and would like the opportunity to start.

“At this point in my career, I don’t see myself as a backup,” Miller said. The veteran guard went on to say that he doesn’t see himself playing with the Nuggets beyond this season.

This could cause Denver to look to trade Miller, and the Lakers could be a possible suitor. With Blake out for a month and Derek Fisher’s rapidly decreasing production, the team certainly could use some help at point guard.

But would another veteran guard with an inconsistent outside shot be a good fit for L.A.? And, when Blake returns the Lakers will have four guards fighting for playing time. Miller’s arrival would certainly delegate young Darius Morris to the bench, leaving Fisher, Miller and ultimately Blake fighting for minutes.

    Mitch/Baby Buss how does this sound;

The Lakers send Pau & Goudelock to the Celts, the Celt’s send Rondo to the Thunder & the Thunder send Westbrook home to the Lakers… NOW Mitch that would be a real trade…

The T. Wolves get word from Love that he will not sign another contract with them, he wants to be a real star & he needs Los Angels & the frozen lands to do that. He says he will only sign a deal with the Lake Show… Love comes to the Lake show… The Lakers send World & Blake home to the Nets & the Nets send Lopez to the T Wolves…

Now Mitch that would put the Lake Show back into the wining circle over night & more important give the Lake show a great group of players for the future as Kobe gets older…

PS. If Andrew can be traded to the Magic along with Walton for salary, go for that as well BUT lets not put all our cookies into the Dwight basket when Love & Westbrook would be far better for us….

Do you know how stupid you sound??  Westbrook is trash!!!  SMH!!!  Nothing you said makes sense and none of it would work. Or will none of it happen.

      • Thelakeshow

Westbrook is not “trash” Nutjsdk…What LA has now (as far as PG’s go) he would clearly be a step up. No its not a likely scenario, however what we need is a solid point gaurd who can facilitate the ball well according to Mike Brown’s newly adapted system. Thats obvious. On a side note though, Darius Morris will have something to offer in the future if he’s teachable and willing to learn. But everything right now is purely speculation. With saying that, the sun will come out tomorrow Mr. Cynical don’t worry. Its called hypothetical thinking. You should give it a try.

Andrew is still young and developing let him learn and he will be better than lopez

      • Marty Susman

Westbrook is trach & you call others stupid, go look in the mirror.

    • Joseph

Why stop at Love.  Let’s get Rubio as well.  That would really be showtime #2.

You were doing alright with the 1st deal, except it doesn’t work under the salary cap. The idea that anyone would take 3 more years of MWP AND 4 more years of Steve Blake AND send out an NBA starting C caliber player…yikes!!! I like what you are thinking but guys have to stop thinking other teams want Walton, MWP, Blake, Fisher, etc. It ain’t happening. To get better, Bynum and/or Gasol are gonna have to go…since Kobe can’t.

      • Marty Susman

You are correct except guys like Walton might have to be traded where as an example D12 for Andrew does not meet the salary thing, soooo including losers like Walton & Blake makes the money thing work out…

Andre miller- horrible addition., lakers need a skillful pg and scorer. I think, deron Williams better add

    • DiamondsAreForever

That’s a negative Lowkah.  You’re out of your mind.

  • JR

I’d still rather have him than Fisher.

If would some how try and go get DJ Augustin

  • toryo

yeah! Aaron Brooks. He`s a fearless slasher and, a scorer and an eagle eyed passer.

I say yes just as long as it doesn’t cost the Lakers anyone, picks or cas iis more than enough for him.

no to this. If there’s any truth in Nash’s availability I’d go after that. What about Mo Williams? Clips are lopsided on that spot.

  • caloiskee

Mitch Kupchak you need to make move now to improve you team. before its too late. get a much better playmaker for the team. get a talented PG let go of D. Fisher and luke walton.
