Lakers Rumors: L.A. Interested in Former Blazer Brandon Roy?

The rumors keep coming for the Los Angeles Lakers, which tends to happen whenever the team makes an early exit from the post-season. So far names like Kyle Lowry, Dwight Howard and Deron Williams have been floating around the L.A. airwaves.

Now, it seems we have a new name to add to the list according to Chris Palmer of ESPN.

Palmer also mentioned the possibility of the Lakers adding Lamar Odom, another move that seems destined to happen. If the Lakers add Odom and also bring in Roy, their previously dismal second unit just got a whole lot stronger.

Obviously Roy’s health is a huge concern, as that was the main reason he was forced to retire following the 2010-11 NBA season. But Palmer insists that he’s heard rumblings of a Roy comeback, which could be a positive sign for a Lakers team in need of a facelift.

They need to try and get Ariza back … another mistake Kupchak made in letting him go.  Why would they even take a chance on Brandon Roy with his knee injuries.  The Lakers management got rid of some viable players and they need to re-visit their choice for a coach … I will guarantee you that is the problem.  Brown is not going to be any better than he was with 60 plus games … I really want to be proven wrong, but I have no faith in his ability to take these Lakers across the finish line.  I just don’t … didn’t have it in the beginning and I don’t have it now.  The second season with LeBron James ended just like the first playoff run … so he didn’t get better.  He stayed even … somebody should have looked at that before they hired him and they should have let MJ have him for the Bobcats … this is not a “Laker coach” ….

    How about Greg Oden Too?

  • IHaveFaith

Brandoy Roy retired because of his heart condition, not because of his knees. Read the news people!

Lamar Odom is a free agent. Get him. Greg Oden, not healthy, but a free agent as well. Ring a bell?

Send Pau Gasol, Metta World Peace and Steve Blake to New Jersey for Darren Williams.  Send Andrew Bynum, Matt Barnes and a draft pick to Orlando for Dwight Howard. Keep Sessions, Ebanks and Jordan Hill and start rebuilding the team.  Miami, Boston, OKC and San Antonio all have “Big Three’s”….L.A. needs a new big three; Kobe, Howard and Williams.  Build around that!!!
