Lakers Rumors: Dwight Howard Trade Talks Quiet Between Lakers, Magic

With the Lakers set to take on the Orlando Magic on Friday night all the trade talk surrounding Dwight Howard and Andrew Bynum is seemingly coming to a head. Except that it isn’t.

It may be surprising to some that Howard is indeed still a member of the Magic, it appears as if the trade talk between the Magic and Lakers has indeed died down.

According to Mike Bresnahan and Broderick Turner of the L.A. Times the teams haven’t been actively communicating, meaning there is little chance of a deal being completed in the near future.

“The Lakers and Orlando haven’t had trade talks in “a while,” according to a person familiar with the teams’ thinking, putting a damper on proponents of a Bynum-for-Howard deal.”

The lack of communication between the teams certainly hasn’t killed any of the trade speculation, however. With the trade deadline still two months away (Mar. 15), there is still plenty of time for something to be worked out between the two teams.
