Lakers Rumors: Andrew Bynum Will Test Free Agency Without Extension

By | July 8, 2012|

After being surrounded by trade rumors for most of the off-season, the Lakers’ Andrew Bynum has reportedly stated that he isn’t interested in signing an extension with Los Angeles.

According to Adrian Wonjarowski of Yahoo! Sports, Bynum has a short list of teams he would consider if he was unable to reach an agreement with the Lakers.

Wojnarowski went on to list two of the teams that could be interested in Bynum if a deal isn’t reached with Los Angeles.

This will make things more interesting in Los Angeles as fans wait to see if the exchange for Howard will take place. If not, look for the Lakers to work with Bynum on an extension to avoid the same fate currently overtaking Orlando.

Andrew wants to stay in LA. If he’s traded somewhere else he will test free agency. Once again misleading your readers.

How are they misleading us it clearly says on tweeter that he hasn’t reach a deal with the Lakers and he’s going to test the market. Bynum has always said it doesn’t matter where he plays, here’s what he said there’s a bank in every city. He’s a cancer that’s all that there is to it.

umm. read the tweet by woj. it says that without the extension from the lakers bynum will test FA. that means that if bynum gets traded elsewhere, he wont sign an ext meaning that the trade is off because magic wont want a rental either.  gosh media is really misleading now a days. yes he did say theres a bank in every city but shortly after the reporter asked if he want to go somewhere else. bynum then said no i want to play for lakers i just dont know. tweet is basically saying hes wiling to sign an ext with lakers only smh

It will be real sad  if the Lakers lose Dwight and Bynum.Dallas will go full force for Bynum and Dwight might end up with Brooklyn.

    • j_3system

misleading. it says he’ll accept an ext if its with the lakers only

If the trade for Howard goes through and L.A. reaches the Finals, Howard will not be walking away from 15-20 M that L.A. will have to offer him by having his bird rights, especially if Adidas prefer he stays in L.A.

Bynum is a cancer and if Jim Buss will pull his head out of his ass and let Mitch do his job we could of made a deal for Howard a long time ago!

  • Chante227

I think they should gone and pull the trigger they wait to late on big deals.Plus they have Andrew Bynum to offer to Orlando and the other teams dont have a great big man to replace Howard like Bynum does.

  • Jrcatenza

    see the attitude?

Either we trade Bynum for Howard we still need to address the bench situation we need some shooters outside to space the floor and give Nash room to facilitate the offense. If we keep Bynum i think the mosty logical plan is move Gasol to the ^th man position that was formerly Odoms and move Jordan Hill to the starting PF position and maybe pickup Grant Hill although he is old and injury prone but for the right money he can help our bench and just sign some freeagents some we need perimeters shooters..

I call Andrew’s Bluff.  I personally cringe every time he hits the floor or does awkward moves because you never know when those knees are going to give out again (and they will).  Last season was his first “Full” season, but remember it was a shortened one + he missed the first 5 games which made it only a 60 game season for him.  No way in hell he would take the chance of playing next year without a guarantee on at least another 3 years.  Obviously he would rather play here than with a lottery team if he’s going to get paid the same either way.  He is just trying to use the only leverage he has.

t says “without extension WITH LAKERS Andrew Bynum has short of list teams he will consider…” – Woj

Where does that say he wont sign an extension with Lakers! Y’all should read before panicking.

Look guys  ”After being surrounded by trade rumors for most of the off-season, the Lakers’ Andrew Bynum has reportedly stated that he isn’t interested in signing an extension with Los Angeles.” It says Andrew Bynum stated..Please get you facts right..he does not want to stay in LA..seriously we need to get rid of him.

  • Hectorchaidez1102

Bynum won’t leave, he wants to be in la.especialy if the lakers offer a max contract which he WILL get. If players like joe johnson, rashars Lewis, jermaine oniel just to name a few were given max contracts I think he will receive one. We are talking about the 2nd best center in the nba here! Yes he has maturity issues but the man can play ball!

i think bynum will go to heat -_-

If your team was shopping you and teaching you this is a business.  Why would this kid or anybody expect loyalty.  You don’t have to be a fancy nba analyst or insider to write a big headline Bynum will not sign extension because Lakers are shopping him…Yaaawn…
