The Lakers resumed practice Monday morning before they hopped on a flight to Dallas, in preparation for their trying road trip ahead. Pau Gasol did practice with the team and traveled on the team charter. Lakers head coach Mike D’Antoni discussed how the trade rumors surrounding Gasol should not be affecting the team. He is still unsure of the Lakers line-up tomorrow and will still be without Xavier Henry who’s timetable has been pushed back. Lakers rookie Ryan Kelly who is currently on a non-guaranteed contract, along with Shawne Williams, Kendall Marshall and Xavier Henry, is antsy for January 10th to pass. As of January 10th all non-guaranteed contracts become guaranteed for the remainder of the season. Stick with it Ryan Kelly.

I’d rather see Kelly taking all the open looks any time of the day than S. Williams. Releasing this dude would be ‘another’ of the plenty mistakes…

I just don’t see Lakers releasing this guy. MDA like him, he shows alot of effort and although his stats aren’t showing quite yet slowly it will get there. He isn’t that bad of a defender either (could work on it obviously) but as he plays more this year he’ll develop more experience for the game.

I still think this guy should have been a 20~25th pick 1st round however his foot injury during college set him back. Lakers drafted well and he’ll develop to be a solid player
