Lakers Organization Donates $25,000 to Tornado Victims Fund

By | May 25, 2011|

The Los Angeles Lakers announced late last week that they would be donating $25,000 to the American Red Cross to help support the relief efforts in the great plains and southern regions of the United States that has recently been ravaged by violent tornadoes.

After several tornadoes touched down in Missouri, Kansas, and other states in the country’s heartland the region has been decimated and destroyed.

The Red Cross depends on financial donations to help in times of disaster such as this. Anyone who wants to help people affected by the tornadoes can make a donation to support American Red Cross Disaster Relief. This will enable the Red Cross to prepare for and provide shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance in response to the tornadoes.

Visit the official Red Cross website or call 1-800-RED-CROSS; people can also text the word “REDCROSS” to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
