Lakers News: Team Hires Mike D’Antoni As Head Coach

According to Mike Bresnahan of the L.A. Times the Lakers have agreed to terms with Mike D’Antoni to be their next head coach after speculation that the team would hire former coach Phil Jackson to replace the recently fired Mike Brown.

After rumors that the team was very close to bringing back Jackson, it appears that his asking price was just too high.

D’Antoni most recently coached the New York Knicks before acting as an assistant this summer for Team USA in the Olympics.
