Lakers News: Steve Nash Won’t Be With Team On Upcoming Road Trip

The waiting game continues for Steve Nash’s return with there still no telling when the two-time NBA MVP will be back in the lineup for the Los Angeles Lakers. Nash may have returned to practice recently, but won’t travel with the team on the upcoming road trip according to Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

Back on Nov. 1o, Nash suffered a setback in his attempt to get back to 100 percent with nerve root irritation in his back. The injury was such a setback for the 39-year-old point guard that many believed it would be the end of the future Hall of Famer’s career in the NBA. Although retirement seemed to be a likely scenario for Nash, it never came to fruition with the Canada native reluctant to call it a career.

Nash has never been the same since suffering a leg fracture in the second game of the 2012-13 NBA season against the Portland Trail Blazers. The leg injury turned out to be a reality check for the veteran guard as it became clear the end of his playing days was closer than expected.

With Nash still trying to get his body right after the latest setback and not ready to return, the floor general sitting out the upcoming four-game road trip comes as no surprise and might be exactly what’s needed to take the next step in the rehab process.
