Lakers News: Steve Nash Will Be Game-Time Decision Against Clippers

After colliding with rookie Damian Lillard on Wednesday night in the loss to the Portland Trail Blazers, Steve Nash was given a sleeve to put over his right leg to protect the bruise. Although Nash was able to get back on the floor for the Los Angeles Lakers, the 38-year-old didn’t last long as it only took one trip down the floor before he was noticeably limping and forced to take a timeout in order to be pulled out of the game.

Since leaving the floor against the Blazers with the right leg injury, Nash’s status for Friday night’s showdown with Chris Paul and the division rival Los Angeles Clippers has been listed as doubtful.

According to Dave McMenamin of ESPNLosAngeles.com, Nash will be a game-time decision against the Clippers:

Los Angeles Lakers guard Steve Nash will be a game-time decision when the team plays the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night.”

Lakers Coach Mike Brown went on to say that Nash hasn’t been ruled out of tonight’s game via McMenamin:

“I’m not sure, he didn’t go through shootaround, so we’ll see,” Lakers coach Mike Brown said. “It doesn’t look good, but they have not ruled him out yet.”

It appears the highly anticipated showdown between Nash and Paul will have to wait as odds are that the two-time NBA MVP will be sitting on the sidelines at the Staples Center tonight.
