UPDATE (3:03 PM): Steve Nash says he just took a knee to the spot he broke his leg. He doesn’t think it will be a long-term issue and hopes to return to action soon.

Two-time NBA MVP Steve Nash has played well since returning from from a persistent back injury, but might be right back on the shelf after suffering a leg injury against the Chicago Bulls.

Nash will not return to the floor after heading to the locker room to get the injury checked out by Lakers trainer Gary Vitti according to Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

Not only will Nash miss the rest of the game against the Bulls, but the injury is very similar to the one suffered last season in the collision with Damian Lillard:

Nash will have his injured leg re-evaluated tomorrow to determine the extent of the damage and amount of time potentially set to be missed.

With Nash going down yet again, the talk of retirement will start to circulate once again. Although Nash insists he’s not retiring and intends to play out his contract with the Lakers, the latest setback may be enough to convince the veteran point guard that it’s time to call it a career.

    Yes! Wooohoooooo….

    • CJ

Your a idiot for saying Wooohoooo

      • X

You’ll be thankful when the Lakers land a top 5 pick. Don’t be a hypocrite!

        • CJ

They aren’t going to land a Top 5 pick ding dong! Lets be realistic. They have to many guys coming back in the next 2-3 weeks to continue to be that bad. No true Lakers fan she be happy a guy gets hurt

No true Lakers fan would be happy when the team being mediocre for a long time. I could care less about Nash. Not only the Lakers gave up plenty of draft picks for him, we also have to bear his huge salary and the fact that he’s injury prone! The Suns are laughing at us right now.

I wouldn’t be so hard on the management, they made a bold move to win which didn’t pin out. That said, we must be pragmatic and go “hard” on the draft. Wins to Philys and Cav’s were pointless in my view..

smh, #rollwithit but given the latest rumors that this may be his last year just shows he’s still battling with the injury. Wish him the best but best to hang it up for his health too by the end of this season.

  • Lakers Fan

Damnnit. Nash, my man, lets hope this isn’t another lengthy injury. If it is, it might be time to hang it up. You were playing well and I wish this didn’t happen to you, but unfortunately things happen. I’m hoping it isn’t serious, but nerve irritation isn’t good news, especially for a 40 year old.

  • michael

That’s a f… up season. Hopefully it isn’t serious, otherwise that’s the end of his career.

  • Nick the Quick

Sheesh! Why can’t we catch a break? Its like every game we have another injury. When you look at the bench, we have more guys in suits than in purple and gold.

    • Jim213

bench players dp bench players mostly.

  • Jabez Ledres

can we get some more ATs and PTs on that team please gosh man…

  • Sti1lmatic

    Damn

  • LakersHeatBeef

Sadly that’s what happens when someone gets older, aches and pains suck man.

  • Rigged4fun

It isn’t Steve’s playing prowess as it is his inability to stay healthy. So what is it? He plays every 3 games or 5 or ????

  • LakersHeatBeef

    He will play Tuesday tbh.

  • Thomas Holt

    Hang it up Nash..

  • hookedonnews

Nash has made it plain that he doesn’t want to retire. To keep bringing it up shows a lack of respect for a great player and a class guy. He’s going to retire at some point, but he doesn’t need fans and writers continually bringing it up and (even worse) making the kind of classless comments I see every day.
