Lakers News: Steve Blake Dealing With Hyperextended Elbow

Steve Blake 11 17 13The injuries are starting to pile up for the Los Angeles Lakers. Point guard Steve Blake is the among the latest to be dealing with an injury according to Mike Bresnahan of the L.A. Times via Twitter:

Along with Blake being banged up, the Lakers are also dealing with Jordan Farmar going down with a torn hamstring and Steve Nash trying to battle back from numerous ailments that have kept him out of action most of the season. Kobe Bryant is also nearing a return, but there’s no telling if it’ll be this week or the next.

The injuries aren’t limited to the backcourt with Pau Gasol diagnosed with a mild ankle sprain. Gasol isn’t expect to miss time with the ankle sprain, but may see his minutes limited.

Although the injuries are piling up, Bryant and Nash may return over the course of the next week or two which will help shoulder the blow of losing Farmar and Blake dealing with the elbow injury. There’s no telling how well either of the two veterans will play once back on the floor, but their return will definitely help moving forward.
