After suffering a toe injury in the loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday, Pau Gasol’s status was uncertain for the matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday night.

Fortunately, Gasol will play regardless of the injury according to Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

Over the past few weeks, Gasol has dealt with injuries and trade rumors. Although it seemed like Gasol was on his way out when the Andrew Bynum trade talk kicked into high gear, the Spaniard was able to stay put with the Cleveland Cavaliers choosing to go with the Chicago Bulls offer of Luol Deng and draft picks.

Although Gasol will take the floor against the Cavs on Tuesday, the Lakers will be without Xavier Henry, Kobe Bryant, Steve Blake, Jordan Farmar and Steve Nash. Henry was thought to possibly be able to suit up against Cleveland, but will miss tonight’s game and tomorrow’s game against the Phoenix Suns.

The only reason to watch Lakers games is to see which of the youngsters the Lakers have is worth keeping for the future. It’s a full season audition for all these players to impress the Lakers enough to sign them long term and to put them in the starting lineup and rotation.Seriously i like Nick Young and Kendall Marshall they seem like they are keepers.Jodie Meeks plays hard and shoots good.Jordan Hill plays hard he is a garbage man.Wes looks fast and athletic.Player development is the only thing everyone is looking at IMO.

Lakers can develop some of these former lottery picks into good player maybe.

Player enhancement and development is the key this season.Take it seriously Lakers FO.Coaches must work on making all these players comfortable and better.
