Lakers News: Pau Gasol Believes Lakers are on “Right Path”

PauGasol3The Los Angeles Lakers are sitting at 14-15, and even though many people did not see the Lakers being a below .500 team, things are getting better. The team has gotten back Pau Gasol and Steve Nash from injury and everyone is hoping the healthy roster can get the Lakers back to their winning ways.

Gasol spoke to the Los Angeles Times and he talked about how the Lakers are slowly getting back to the proper form. The Lakers struggled mightily in the first part of the season, but Gasol sees some major improvements with this team.

“I think we’re on the right path,” said Gasol.  “We’re working together.  Everybody on the floor is playing together.  We’re finally getting somewhere.  We’re getting close to the place that we want to be and the team that we want to be.”

Still, the Lakers have a lot of ground to make up in the Western Conference and they will have to be near perfect the rest of the year if they want to claim a top spot in the West. The Lakers had a turbulent first three months of the season with various coaching changes and injuries, two things that played a role in their poor performances.

Nevertheless, the Lakers are getting better and it looks like the team is finally regaining some confidence. Los Angeles now has all the pieces to succeed, it is up to the players to make sure they live up to the expectations.
