Lakers News: Nick Young Expected To Play Against Warriors

Coming into the first preseason game against the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night, the Los Angeles Lakers will be without veterans Steve Nash and Pau Gasol, but will likely have new comer Nick Young in the starting lineup. Young suffered a sprained ankle in practice on Thursday and was thought to miss some time on the floor in the preseason. Fortunately for the Lakers, Young fully participated in practice on Friday and is expected to play on Saturday according to our Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

With no timetable for Kobe Bryant’s return to the floor, head coach Mike D’Antoni will likely lean on Young for some of the team’s offensive production. A lot of the team’s offensive weapons will likely get the green light more often than not with Kobe sidelined. Along with Young, Gasol and Nash will also be leaned on to produce offensively until the five-time NBA champion is able to return. The game against the Warriors will be telling to say the least for Young with the USC alum likely ready to prove his worth to the team. Young may be prepared to put on a show for the Lakers coaching staff against the Warriors by lighting up the scoreboards while leading the charge for this undermanned squad.

I am very interested in seeing how Nick Young performs with the Lakers.I think he is a great scorer,he has a top notch mid range jumper. He will be a major addition to the roster.Yes it’s great to have some excellent wing players this season.

He is only 28,he is fairly young.I am so excited to watch the game tomorrow night,my weekend is all about the Lakers games.I am ready to watch all the fine young talent we got gel together and Nick Young will play great.#SwaggyPHomecoming

The Rock without the leadership of Kobe,Pau,and Nash the Lakers face an uphill battle .
The Warriors were playing very well last year and have a clear advantage going in. That said we will have to expect the best yet prepare for a battle. It’s just preseason so don’t read too far into the 1st game out.

I am excited to watch Nick Young too! But we better bring some defense for Curry and company. Curry’s huge night, and the lack of support until we were backed up facing elimination contributed to Kobe getting injured IMO. That was the game where Kobe went down unfortunately. So defense and “STEPPING UP” by all players is my call out to the team this season.

      Go Lakers!

Hey Paytc is their a Lakers game day thread on Lakers Nation?Like where we can back and forth chat with one another regarding the Lakers versus Warriors game while the game is being played live. Also is their any Lakers fan support websites that you recommend to me that have a game day thread?

I am a fan of the Miami Hurricanes as i am also a alumn,I always find a game day thread for them to comment on also my Miami Dolphins have a site to discuss sports also the Miami Marlins have a site that has a game day thread and i go use it.I think the Lakers are more than capable to win games like this one.Come on lets get this season started already.

Lakers will miss the big 3 tonight, but we beat the Warriors 3-1 last season. We tend to beat them most of the time.I am aiming high champions aim for the top spot.Nick Young will prove his worth and he wants to make his first impression a good one to be sure.

I might sound foolish but i still believe in the Lakers.Go Lakers FTW!

I replied with some info on a few options in addition to Laker nation.
It is being reviewed by Laker nation probably because I listed a few other web sites. I think you just need to click on the “forum” link on laker nation to find live threads for Laker games. Looks like they have some user guidelines you have to read agree with and abide by?

I am usually too into the game to log on and chat live personally.
if you like to you can reach me at paythekidsfirst@gmail.com
I do not check my emails there very often so you may have to be patient on my response. Afterwards we can exchange better contact info if you’d like to.
I do like how you chop up game.

No problem thanks for trying.I understand Lakers Nation wants traffic and hits on their website and on their pages.

I can’t hate on a person trying to make a buck good for them i respect that fully.I will check out the forum section and if i sign up i will let you know. Are you on the game day thread over there on the forum section?Yes i will hopefully find a game day thread for the Lakers.

          • Paytc

No. I have never really participated in any live threads.
But I will check out at least part of the game tonight. I might miss a bit of the beginning. It should be entertaining to see who will “STEP UP ” in the absence of the 3 so call superstars.
