Lakers News: NBA Legend James Worthy Joins Twitter

Over the past few years, current and former Los Angeles Lakers players have discovered one of the best ways to connect with fans and express their opinions is creating Twitter account.

Even though Kobe Bryant still needs some convincing to jump on the Twitter bandwagon (he prefers Facebook), the rest of the big-name players on the squad are making excellent use of the social network.

Dwight Howard, Metta World Peace and Steve Nash are constantly updating their status and getting involved with the fans. Pau Gasol has also been very active on Twitter as of late.

The latest addition to the Twitterverse from the Lakers family is James Worthy, a.k.a. Big Game James (@James_Worthy42):

The three-time NBA champion has made a lot of news as of late signing on to be an analyst for Time Warner Cable SportsNet. Worthy will have a similar role on the network in comparison to working for KCAL as a studio analyst breaking down Lakers games.

As of Oct. 1, the new network will begin broadcasting nonstop coverage of the Lakers from media day onwards.

Worthy also made headlines recently for voicing his opinion on the new additions of Steve Nash and Dwight Howard. Worthy also expressed his belief the Lakers will be a force to be reckoned with next season, but the Miami Heat is still the favorite to win it all.
