NBA News: NBA 2K14 Releases Player Ratings For Specific Players

kobe-2k14The NBA 2K series is one of the most popular sports video game series in the world. It’s release is always highly anticipated, and the product is always some of the best of all sports games every year.

Prior to the release of the game, the production crew revealed player ratings for specific players. In addition, numerous other ratings have been leaked out. According to Fansided, Pau Gasol rates as an 81 in this version of the game, which is an increase of 1 point as Gasol was an 80 as of the latest roster update from the 2K13 version.

Other notable official ratings include cover man LeBron James being rated a 99, Oklahoma City point guard Russell Westbrook being a 91, and Indiana Pacer rising superstar Paul George clocking an 88.

There have also been numerous Laker ratings that have been released, but have not been made official. Those ratings include Kobe Bryant being an 93, Steve Nash as an 80, Chris Kaman rated a 75, and Nick Young rated a 72.

If these rankings are official, or at least close to it, that doesn’t bode too well for the Lakers’ team rating in the game. With teams like Houston, Oklahoma City, Miami, and Golden State bound to have numerous players rated in nineties or high eighties, it’s safe to say the Lakers won’t be one of the higher rated teams on the game.

Of course, real life Kobe makes anything possible, so I’m sure virtual Kobe will be able to do the same.

James isn’t 99, ok he strong and what else… Ok Kobe it’s note 99 at moment but he should at least be 96. He still the, we have to face it he is 35 and he still top 5 . I want to the queen James do something at this age

This comment….I don’t even know if you are serious. Lebron James may not be a better shooter than Kobe but all the other facets of his game (perimeter defense, post game, transition, efficiency, playmaking, ect) are considered elite in the league. Not to mention, Kobe coming off what could have been a career ending injury and you would still rate him that high? Over harden, Chris Paul, and even Durant?

      • Ryan Green

absolutely check his Highlights from last year…even before the injury he looks like he’s 25 instead of 35 out there…and for the record Kobe’s post game is borderline flawless check his footwork and his ability to adjust his shot.. and perimeter defense still top 5 guard perimeter defenders in the league..don’t know what i will see from him this year truly but if he comes back strong like I truly expect him to do his rating will truly show itself feasible.. if not underrated..At the age of 35.. his play-making is far above average as well..its just this he is a Shooting Guard not a Point Guard.. but I will tell you this if he was a point guard they would win another championship…give him a young Guard to work with that can score as well like Paul George it would be crazy out there.. and are you a Lebron fan On A LAKER fan page………….

I will still rate Kobe over Harden…IMO, Kobe is still the best Shooting Guard in the League…

Hello, the ranking is for this year… not when LBJ is 35… Kobe is 35 and just went through a career ending injury… of course there will be doubts if he can come back at the level he was at… and that should play a major part in that ranking and how the season progresses as well…

    What is D Rose’s rating

  • Helder Candeeiro

Yeah, but I’m not saying over queen James or Mr Durant, but close enough to give Kobe some respect on what he did last season, I meant a fair respect. I don’t understand why people can even try to compare James to Kobe… if you compare Mj with Kobe although I agree that MJ it’s relative better even thou I would prefere Mr Mamba it’s fair but the queen James!!! He looks like a NFL not like a NBA player but respect what he did but he will never be at Kobe level plus you see when he reach the age 35 he will be already retire or at least at the bench of one team, sorry guys this my point of view

Remember the times when only MJ got a 99..
