After signing a second 10-day contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, Manny Harris had a breakout performance against the New York Knicks scoring a career-high 18 points off the bench.

Following the loss to the Knicks, Harris spoke the media and said he’s starting to comfortable in his new surroundings via Time Warner SportsNet:

With the Lakers still dealing with injuries to the majority of their backcourt players including Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash, retaining Harris was a smart move considering having no risk in doing so.

As for Harris, the former D-League star made an impression against the Knicks and might be on the verge of turning things around at just the right time. Although the Lakers continuing to struggle night in and night out, Harris can be spark off the bench along with Nick Young while the veterans in the backcourt work to get back healthy.

With another 10-day contract signed, Harris will have a chance to try and secure his long-term future in the NBA.
