With the NBA trade deadline approaching this Thursday, there are sure to be a number of trade rumors circulating about which players may move to a new home.

The Lakers have been the subject of a number of trade rumors this season. Most recently, talks with the Phoenix Suns centered around Pau Gasol are expected to pick back up this week.

Kobe Bryant has dedicated his entire career to the Lakers organization. With the deadline here, the OC Register’s Janis Carr reports that Bryant has just one demand from the team:

This is a reasonable demand from a player in Bryant’s situation. He is the face of this team and should at least have an idea of any changes coming to the team.

Making it more difficult is the fact that any move the Lakers make will almost definitely include Bryant’s close friend Pau Gasol.

Bryant has talked on numerous occasions about keeping Gasol in Los Angeles, and moving him at all would not make Bryant happy. But Bryant finding out about it by watching ESPN would make things far worse.

With three days left until the trade deadline, the Lakers will be a team to watch.

That’s good, but I have this feeling he’ll be really mad by the time he finds out Pau may be gone in this year’s trade deadline for good.

I am sorry BUT Kobe is a GREAT player, NOT A GREAT GM…. Not ONE THING THE FRONT OFFICE HAS DONE IN THE PAST TWO YEARS HAS BEEN CORRECT. Lost Drew for nothing, lost D12 for nothing, got Nash, a crippled old man, gave Kobe $48,000,000 & he can’t play & even if he could he is NOT WORTH $48,000,000 a year on a team that NEEDS whole new STARTING FIVE… THEY HAVE HIRED & NOT HIRED A GREAT COACH & HIRED TWO LOSERS and so on SOOOOO please don’t give me this crap about how much we owe anyone…We owe the city, the fan’s, the future team, not old close to washed up players, GM’s & new owners who are more concerned with their ego then the future team…..

Marty, as I understand it Kobe is not getting 48mil per yr. I believe the fig. is closer to 24mil. per yr. so, please quit starting rumors that aren’t true and if I’m wrong, then I’m wrong !!!!!

you are telling me that at the time when the lakers signed Dwight, Nash, and Jamison you weren’t thinking that we were going to the finals do not say that they have made all bad decisions they just had unfortunate side effects

      • Marty Susman

Yes, I said in line many times, Nash was a huge mistake, D12 was bIGGER mistake & Jamison was already OLD….
