Lakers News: Kobe, Dahntay Jones Battle Not First Time Incident

By | March 13, 2013|

The Lakers lost to the Hawks on Wednesday night, but that’s not what everybody is talking about. On one of the final possessions in the game, Kobe Bryant missed a potential game-tying jump shot on the baseline before going down hard and clutching his ankle.

After the game, Kobe insinuated that it was an intention move by Dahntay Jones, who stepped under Bryant while he was in the air, leading the rolled ankle.

Here’s the video of the play;

Now, while it’s impossible to prove intent, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen this from Jones when facing Bryant.

It was Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals in Denver, and Jones blatantly tripped Bryant while he was attacking the rim.

While that was much more obvious than Wednesday night’s play, the history between these two is clear. And Bryant is ready to get another shot at Jones, according to reporters after the game.

“I can’t get my mind past the fact that I got to wait a year to get revenge.”

    Yes, it was intentional and Dahntay has always been a dirty player, who is jealous of Kobe, but don’t worry he will get what is coming to him. Either the league will suspense him or someone will give him a dose of the same medicine. Kobe will be back for the Wizards games after ice bathes and time in an air chamber.
