Superstar Kobe Bryant may still be on the mend due to a knee injury, but the five-time NBA champion can still draw a crowd when it comes time for him to talk to the media.

On Friday, the Los Angeles Lakers were finally able to snap their losing streak with a win over the rival Boston Celtics. Along with finally getting back in the win column, some interesting news broke concerning Bryant and former head of the players union, Billy Hunter.

Hunter is not pleased with the way things went down in terms of his dismissal from the union and his recent lawsuit that was dismissed by a Los Angeles judge. Bryant, on the other hand, was happy he could start to distance himself from Hunter and had some choice things to say according to Howard Beck of Bleacher Report:

“Of course, it should have been (dismissed),” Bryant told Bleacher Report on Friday, in his first public remarks on the case. “It’s unfounded. It’s just silly.”

Bryant didn’t stop there as it became clear he’s not a fan of Hunter and his claim involving the future Hall of Famer:

“He’s full of s—; that’s what I thought,” Bryant said Friday, recalling his reaction to Hunter’s claim. “I was shocked, more than anything else. Just shocked. It’s one of those things, it just kind of comes out of left field.”

It’s been almost a year since Hunter’s firing and the shockwaves are still being felt. Hunter helped the players end the lockout that threatened to cancel an entire NBA season, but things got ugly shortly after the league was back open for business.

Former Laker and president of the player’s union was also major piece to the puzzle in terms of Hunter’s lawsuit and allegations. Although Fisher is no longer the president with Chris Paul taking over, Hunter was adamant that the veteran point guard had taken a back-room deal to end the lockout.

Despite the allegations from Hunter pointing to Bryant and Fisher, the dust is finally starting to settle and hopefully Bryant’s comments help put the matter to rest.
