Lakers News: Kobe Bryant Returns To Philippines After Tour In China

kobe-bryant-passingAfter an extensive tour of China with Nike, Kobe Bryant has began a tour through the Philippines today with Levono Mobile, according to the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

NBA superstar Kobe Bryant arrives in Manila today in the wake of a historic weekend in Philippine basketball.

Bryant returns for the Lenovo Mobile one-day promotional tour with the country still celebrating Gilas Pilipinas’ clinching a Fiba World Cup berth for the first time in three decades.

This is the sixth time that Bryant has included the Philippines in his Nike overseas tours. This year’s trip comes on the heels of LeBron James making his first trip to Manila — where he wasn’t exactly received as well as Bryant is when he visits.

“He’s a snob. When you go near him, even if you haven’t said anything, he’s quick to tell you, ‘No pictures, no autographs.’ So we never really wanted to get close to him in the first place.”

Bryant usually participates in an exhibition game, but since he’s still recovering from his torn Achilles. Although Bryant won’t play in a game today, the fans still appreciate the time he takes to show his face in the country.

Derrick Rose will make a trip to the Philippines in early September and the Rockets will play the Indiana Pacers in the first preseason game ever in the Philippines.
