Lakers News: Kobe Bryant is World’s 4th Highest Paid Athlete

NBA: Los Angeles Lakers at Los Angeles ClippersSports Illustrated released their annual list of the Fortunate 50, which is the 50 highest paid athletes on the planet. While boxer Floyd Mayweather tops the list with over $90 million in earnings this year alone, there’s a member of the Los Angeles Lakers in the top five as well.

Kobe Bryant, who earned $27.9 million from his NBA contract and $19 million from endorsements this year, is fourth overall with $46.9 million, and the second highest paid NBA athlete behind LeBron James.

The only other athlete ahead of Bryant is NFL quarterback Drew Brees, who finished just ahead of Kobe with $47.8 million.
