Coming into the NBA Draft this year, Julius Randle was considered one of the most NBA ready prospects in the entire draft class. Coming to the Lakers, who don’t have much of a team right now, Randle is expected to have an immediate impact.

Randle had his introductory press conference today at the Lakers practice facility, and has expectations of being an immediate contributor according to our own Serena Winters:

The Lakers organization has to be encouraged by statements like this. Randle wants to make an immediate difference for the team, but he also understands that he will have to work hard to get where he wants to be.

Most people have already penciled in Randle as the starting power forward for the team, but he knows he still has a long way to go. He expects to earn his spot in the lineup.

What the rest of the Lakers lineup looks like remains to be seen. The Lakers will be extremely active in free agency, already having a meeting set up with Carmelo Anthony, and having back-up plans ready in case they fail to bring him or LeBron James in.

Regardless of who else is on the team, Randle has given the impression that he will do everything possible to be one of the best players on the court. Coming from a rookie, that’s all fans can hope for.

Love this guys attitude! He says all the right things and seems like a really hard worker. I know Kobe will respect his game and work ethic. If you can get the Mamba to buy into you, the rest is cake. Let’s go young fella!

He may be kind of undersized for a PF but he can play SF because of his quickness and once he gets that Z-Bo faceup jumper, we can see a star in him for the future

he will eat zbo for breakfast… face up game is already bread and butter. he can shoot and he can drive and he can kick it out.

          He is a man child.

I actually surveyed a bunch my friends on who they think Julius Randle reminds them of and i got a lot of Tim Duncan answers the king of the low post is Big Julius Randle.

One of the best players to be drafted by the Lakers ever he is a great young player and he can do things David Lee does on offense and he can rebound the ball and he has some great post moves and he is doing his best to get the David Robinson face up game and he is way more athletic and quicker than Zach Randolph.Julius has a mean streak.

He reminds me of Charles Barkley circa 1980′s 76ers. Zbo too!

maybe. time will tell. I still see him staying at PF plus the kid is only 19. He may still grow another inch or so

        • Badazztj12

I just saw the article that Randle said he could do small ball
