Lakers News: Jodie Meeks Receives Warning About Flop Vs. Bucks

Jodie Meeks, Giannis AntetokounmpoOn Thursday morning, Los Angeles Lakers guard Jodie Meeks received a warning from the NBA about flopping. Midway through the fourth quarter against the Milwaukee Bucks, it appeared that rookie Giannis Antetokounmpo elbowed Meeks, which caused him to fall down. After numerous replays, Antetokounmpo’s elbow didn’t connect and it is Meeks’s first offense of the season.

Under NBA rules, the league doesn’t fine a player for his first offense. However, the next flop is $5,000 and climbs by $5,000 for each flop. If a player should flop more than six times in a season, it results in a possible suspension.

After a subpar 2012-13 season, Meeks has been a nice surprise for the struggling Lakers this season. He’s averaging 12.7 points and shooting better than 40% from the floor and behind the three-point arc.

Here is the video of Meeks’ flop in the 94-79 loss to the Bucks on Tuesday night:
