Lakers News: Jodie Meeks Calls Loss to Phoenix “Embarrassing”

The Los Angeles Lakers are now two games below .500 after their horrid performance in Phoenix.

Just days removed from their debacle in Oakland, the Lakers were once again blown out of the building. The surprisingly tough Suns team handled the Lakers without any trouble Monday night and walked off the court with a 117-90 victory. Without a true point guard on the roster, the Lakers struggled mightily on the offensive end and could not establish any type of rhythm.

After the game, Jodie Meeks spoke to reporters and it was clear that he was disappointed with how the team showed up.

No one in the lineup played well and it was evident in the early goings that the Lakers were going to have a difficult time matching up against the Suns. Not only was Phoenix quicker and more explosiveness than the Lakers, but it was also more active on the defensive end.

The road will not get any easier for the Lakers as they will have the Miami Heat coming into town for a much anticipated Christmas Day matchup.

He’s right, last night’s loss/effort was embarrassing – the first step towards righting the ship is introspective acknowledgement. Meeks is echoing the same sentiments I heard post game in the locker room from virtually everyone, including Shawne Williams and Robert Sacre. These are young guys who have the resiliency to learn from having taken such a beating…it’s no fun and, in the long run, it’ll only make you stronger.

I know the next game is back home against the Heat, and the Lakers will be massive underdogs, but I expect the effort to be a lot better and for the game to be competitive.

pleaaaaaase show up for the Xmas game tomorrow fellas! There’s nothing more painful than to watch you guys not only lose, but to get blown out! Where’s the heart we saw during games against the clippers, wolves, etc?! Come on, its the LAKERS! PLAY YOUR F@$%^ TAIL OFF!!

i agree that game was embarrassing. lakers had no chance with the way they were rebounding and allowing them to shoot 3s
