Lakers News: Jeanie Buss Tweets Dwight Howard Ahead Of Meeting

Jeanie Buss and Phil JacksonIt’s a tense day in Lakerland as Dwight Howard will finally meet with the Lakers contingent in Beverly Hills as they try and pitch him on the present and future of the organization.

Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, Mike D’Antoni, Mitch Kupchak, Jim Buss and TWC executives will be present at the meeting but there’s one member of the Buss family notably missing.

One of the most important members of the organization, Jeanie Buss, won’t be at the meeting but tweeted Howard this morning:

Along with Buss, her fiance Phil Jackson sent out a tweet to Howard over the weekend before heading back to Montana as it’s clear that he’s taken a more active role within the organization.

A reason hasn’t been given for why Jeanie won’t attend the meeting, but it’s clear that she has a relationship with Howard that she hopes can convince him to stay with the Lakers.

Prior to meeting with the Lakers, Howard will have met with the Mavericks, Rockets, Hawks and Warriors as he hopes to make a decision by July 10, the first day free agents can officially sign with teams.

Regardless, Jeanie is the latest person to vouch her support for Howard re-signing with the Lakers, but it sounds like the Rockets are the favorites at this point.
