Along with Kobe Bryant, Mitch Kupchak, Jeanie and Jim Buss, three-time NBA champion James Worthy will be involved in the team’s pitch to Carmelo, according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin:

With the odds not in the Lakers’ favor to land Carmelo, the team is pulling out all the stops in an effort to sell the perennial All-Star on the prospect of playing in Los Angeles.

Even though Magic Johnson won’t attend the meeting with the former face of the franchise on vacation in Italy, Worthy added to the mix may help matters for the Lakers.
