Lakers News: Dr. Jerry Buss Laid to Rest Friday Morning

Dr. Jerry Buss MemorialThe late, great Los Angeles Lakers owner, Dr. Jerry Buss, was laid to rest Friday morning in front of family and close friends. The Lakers held a memorial for Dr. Buss Thursday afternoon at Nokia Theater, which was broadcasting live for the millions of Laker supporters.

The memorial service featured many different speakers ranging from David Stern to Lakers guard Kobe Bryant. The outpouring of support for the Buss family is quite extraordinary and it just shows how much Dr. Jerry Buss meant to people around the world.

The Lakers announced the burial service in the press release below:

El SEGUNDO – Lakers owner Dr. Jerry H. Buss was laid to rest this morning in a private burial ceremony in front of family and close friends at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Hollywood Hills.

Buss, whose life was celebrated yesterday afternoon in a memorial service at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live, passed away at age 80 on Monday morning after a long illness.

The Buss family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the public for their tremendous outpouring of love and support over the past several days.
