Steve Nash is truly a special point guard when he is healthy. Unfortunately for the Lakers, he has struggled to stay on the court since coming to Los Angeles.

Nash made an unexpected return to the court in tonight’s loss to the Washington Wizards, and though the team failed to get the victory, Nash looked excellent in limited minutes.

Coach Mike D’Antoni spoke to the media after the game, and according to LakersNation.com’s Serena Winters, had high praise for his point guard:

Nash’s court vision and passing ability have never wavered even as he has gotten older. Tonight, Nash collected 11 assists in only 19 minutes and the Lakers looked far more energetic than they have in recent weeks.

Nash’s return, along with the returns of Jordan Hill and Nick Young all contributed to the Lakers putting up a big fight against one of the East’s best teams. A true point guard always makes his teammates better and Nash obviously does that with this Lakers team.

D’Antoni and Nash have been together for a number of years, and they hold each other in high regard. Things just seem to run smoother on offense when Nash is in the game.

There are sure to be discussions about how many more games Nash will play, as well as monitoring his minutes and whether or not he will start. But the Lakers will play hard when Nash is on the floor as his teammates are confident that he will make the right play for them.

I’m not even bothering reading the article, for a minute I thought I time traveled to 2005 and I was living in Phoenix, who the fuck cares what Nash inspires, we needed wins not inspiration, how can u inspire when you don’t play 2/3 of the season. Laker mgmt ur making over a billy over the next few years cut this fucker out and dantoni too. I’ve been a laker fan for 20 years since 93-94 season and let me tell you sedale threat van exel Campbell peeler Eddie jones and even divac under del Harris was much more entertaining than this piece of shit you have on now

I’ve listened to 710 ESPN the story about Nash. The Phoenix Suns already knew that Nash was done. Idiotic, moronic Jim Buss fired the scout for the Lakers and replace him with a friend of his who knew nothing about scouting. The Suns was about to release Steve Nash, but Jim’s friend told him about it and sign Nash. You are looking at the end result, multiples injuries one after another. This is what type of leadership Jim Buss is doing to the Lake Show. I hope the Lakers organization as a whole will realize that the Lakers is becoming what the Clippers was fifteen years ago.

Lakers fans are downgrading Nash’s impact on the game, but a lot of elite teams like heat, thunder, Blazers, Raptors, have a lot of interest in him. It is Nash who chooses the Lakers who he thought an elite team last year instead of joining those other elite teams. He will be more impactful than ray allen for miami for sure! It will be showtime orchestrating Lebron, wade, bosh.

He is just injury prone as Ginobili & wade. It will be ok for those consistent elite teams that he skip games to rest.
Nash should not retire nextyear & after the Lakers contract if he is not dealing severe pain. People saying he can’t perform good defense , But Nash is just unguardable himself, destroys opponents defense in a disorienting way. He did not win rings not because of defense probs & Dantoni, but because He never had a superstar team mate than can take over the game. Raja bell & Marion plays defense!

Nash deserves to win a ring! He made a lot of players better… If he cant win a ring as a player, i hope he get a job as a coach. He is well respected in the league & high basketabll IQ!
