Lakers News: Andrew Bynum Compliments Dwight Howard

With the Lakers scheduled to take on the Orlando Magic on Friday night there is plenty of speculation surrounding the matchup of the two centers in the game.

Andrew Bynum and Dwight Howard are arguably the two best true centers in the NBA today, and it will be interesting to see them square off head to head for the first time this season.

It is also interesting because of the trade rumors that have surrounded the pair. With the Lakers reportedly one of the team’s Howard has asked to be traded to, it’s no secret that in return for Howard the Magic would ask for Bynum.

But Bynum isn’t going to let that distract him as he prepares for Friday night. In fact, when asked about Howard he had nothing but nice things to say.

“The guy [Howard] is definitely more proven … so for myself, I always look up to him and want to be able to get the ball and do the things he does with it. I think I learn a lot from watching him play, the way he rim-runs, and gets low and things like that. It’s a fun game.”*

Bynum knows how important it will be to have a strong game this Friday, especially after being embarrassed by Howard last season.

But Bynum won’t have to be the only player who brings his A-game to the Sunshine State this week. With back to back games against the Miami Heat and the Magic, the Lakers can use these next few days as a measuring stick to see how they stack up against some of the elite teams in the league.
