The Lakers are getting ready for June’s NBA Draft as news of a June 4 workout surfaced Friday. A number of prospects are scheduled to attend. With the seventh pick, the Lakers will have many options to chose from.

As it stands, the current Laker roster has plenty of holes to fill and could use the addition of young talent. Marcus Smart, Noah Vonleh, Nik Stauskas, and Doug McDermott are all expected to workout in front of the Lakers. Others who can make an appearance include Zach LaVine and Aaron Gordon.

With Kobe Bryant in the twilight of his career, the Lakers could be looking to find someone they could build their future around in the draft. For much of his career, Bryant has found success at the highest level while winning five championships. Despite all of his accomplishments, Bryant admitted his jealousy of Tim Duncan.

Just like Bryant, Duncan has won multiple titles, but has had the privilege of playing under a Hall-Of-Fame coach for the entirety of his career.

or what reasonable free agent you’d like the Lakers to sign?

Someone tell Kobe that Duncan took much less money and the Spurs can build solid teams because of that. That is why Duncan is always in the playoffs and contending. I can’t stress enough that stupid deal Kobe signed. It sets us back a few yrs.

What does his contract have to do with this article? take ur dumbass comments to a heat forum, Imbecile.

      • Gekko

If the most important thing to Kobe is the money in the contract, there is nothing wrong with that. However, Tim Duncan is one of the best power forwards ever and he took less money in order for the team to stay competitive. Less money for Tim duncan is more money to spread around to a solid supporting cast to stay competitive in the playoffs. So yes, contracts do have an effect on a team’s spending power.
