There are many names rumored to be headed to Los Angeles, but nothing can be said with certainty until the dotted lines are signed. From LeBron James to Carmelo Anthony, this free agency class is loaded and the front office is hoping to land some of the marquee names.

Lakers Nation News:

Carmelo Anthony will meet with the Lakers next week.

If the Lakers can’t sign Melo, they’ll pursue Trevor Ariza, Kyle Lowry, Greg Monroe, and Channing Frye.

The Lakers believe re-signing Pau Gasol can help lure Carmelo Anthony to Los Angeles.

The Lakers did not extend the qualifying offer for Kent Bazemore.

Julius Randle would rather play against LeBron James.

The Lakers used their two picks on Julius Randle and Jordan Clarkson on draft night.

Randle has a 9-1 odds of winning Rookie of the Year.

Mitch Kupchak expects Kobe to reach out to the marquee free agents.

Kupchak does not see Randle needing foot surgery.

Byron Scott believes Randle can start for the Lakers next season.

Steve Nash understands why the Lakers would want to trade him.

Kobe plans to meet with Carmelo Anthony.

Nick Young showed his appreciation for the #STAYSWAG campaign.

Young did, however, opt out of his contract.

Byron Scott is the leading candidate for the head coaching job.

The Lakers have given forward Ryan Kelly a qualifying offer, making him a restricted free agent.

So if plan a is stretch Nash, get a big fa, bring back Pau
We should consider another plan b with Nash and Kelly traded to philly for young.
Philly are willing to trade young and young will put pressure on fo with the possibility to activate his eto next summer and go for free.
Lowry, Bryant, ariza, randle, Pau and swaggy young and that young off the bench.

if melo and pau end up on the lakers there is no question the knicks will be going into tank mode for their first round pick next year. if i was mitch i would call up then knicks and offer nash, scare, and 2 future 2nd rounders for caldaron. a line up of cal, kobe, melo, rand, pau seams like a contender if everyone is healthy. call up meek, young, and farmar and convince them to take smaller 1 year deals again and get hill for the mid lvl and go to war with what u got.

    caldaron, kobe, melo, randell, pau
    farmar, meeks, young, kelly, hill
    marshel, henry, bazemore,?,?

seams like a contender to me.

Seems that Hill is a bit expensive for us if we go after melo and Pau. Likely to bring back Johnson or go after Garcia to play the starting three for cheap. Melo at four and randle not starting but getting 25-30 minutes of game Time like nike young or Ryan Kelly.
I don’t think jax will offer us his first rounder and calderon for Nash and two 2nd rounder.
      Clarkson, Kobe, Johnson/Garcia, melo, Pau
      Marshall/kane, bazemore/young/ross randle/Kelly/sacre/kaman

The biggest ACTUAL news lately is the Lakers deciding to let Kent Bazemore become an unrestricted free agent by not extending a qualifying offer to make him restricted. I’m shocked that I haven’t seen an article on here about this. Did I just miss it?

From the sounds of it the Lakers plan on taking a run at LeBron and Carmelo and if that fails they will just put out a Kobe,Randle roster that is expected to win 30 to 32 games by the so called experts.Man oh man our lottery pick is with the Suns.

I think if we pickup some good free agents and hire a good coach we can win more than what the so called experts are predicting.Las Vegas sportsbook has the Lakers at 60 to 1 odds of winning a championship major longshot. The Lakers will go into full rebuild mode if LeBron and Carmelo reject the Lakers.

Tough times ahead according to the L.A. Times recent free agency article.Every team has a rebuilding period of 3-7 years and the Lakers are in year 2 already. What wiil it take to land a superstar free agent?Lionel Hollins is headed to the Nets to coach them most likely and we still have no coach.I will remain a Lakers fan for life since i still am a fan.99% of so called fans abandoned their team after the first sign of trouble or losing. Most fans switch teams at least 3 times in a lifetime but i have always been purple and gold Lakers and always will love the Lakers.Unconditional Love.
