Over this past weekend, Sports Spectacular put together another successful gala with some of the greatest names in sports and entertainment. This year’s event supported obesity and diabetes awareness, benefiting the new Sports Spectacular Health & Wellness Center at Cedars-Sinai. Lakers point guard Steve Nash was honored with the Spirit Award for his philanthropic efforts in the Los Angeles community.

“It’s so important right now because our children are on the cusp of becoming pre-diabetic and obese in alarming numbers,” Nash said at Sports Spectacular. “It’s a very very dangerous issue not only for the quality of life, but [also] the health of the economy, even in our country…I realize it is an epidemic.”

The gala was a successful night of dinner and an award ceremony, followed up with an after party, with the one and only Cedric Ceballos as the DJ! Olivia Munn presented UFC President Dana White with the Visionary Award for his impact in changing the landscape of the sports world. White personally donated $50,000 and announced that the UFC would make an additional $25,000 donation for this year’s cause.

Check out our highlights from the red carpet, including Metta World Peace, Cedric Ceballos, Chuck Liddell and more!
