The Los Angeles Lakers could be without two-time NBA champion Pau Gasol on Tuesday night against the Cleveland Cavaliers due to a toe injury. Gasol suffered the injury in the loss to the Los Angeles Clippers and underwent an MRI on Monday to determine the extent of the injury.

According to Dave McMenamin of ESPNLosAngeles.com, Gasol will be a game-time decision on Tuesday:

Gasol’s injury is the latest in a seemingly endless string of injuries for the Lakers this season. Along with Gasol potentially out against the Cavs, Xavier Henry has already been ruled out with the knee injury that has kept him sidelined for the last six games. Henry will also miss the matchup with the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday in the second game of the back-to-back for the Lakers.

As the Lakers continue to try and survive through the injuries, the team will hopefully see Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash return after the upcoming road trip. Bryant and Nash have been on the shelf for quite some time, leaving the Lakers without the veteran leadership in the backcourt. The two veterans were expected to keep them afloat and in the playoff conversation in the Western Conference, but their absence has proven costly.

A big toe injury? Really? Tape it up and get back to work!!! If Kobe can play through broken bones, I’m sure pau can borrow his big boy pants and tough it out!!!

    • Matt Williams

Have you ever play basketball with an injured or broken toe? No you haven’t. You’d be writhing in pain.

      • cj

i broke my toe and still strated for my team. its not that hard.

        • JohnC

Do you play in the NBA?

          • cj

no but basketball is basketball and a broken toe is a broken toe.

          • Paytc

Man Ronnie lott that toe and get out there and go to work for that 20 million. Or give me 2% of that amount and I’ll take your place :-) LOL…….

We don’t expect Gasol to play through pain. It’s not a part of his character. Hope he gets well soon.

            Go Lakers !

I just read that they didn’t have enough people to run 5 on 5 drills so they used the video coordinator and an assistant coach. Are they crazy? Why aren’t they brining in more 10-day contracts from the D-League? Tons of players who deserve a shot as a back-up.

    • cj

they have a full roster so they cant bring anyone in.

      • nlruizjr

I believe the Lakers roster is at 14 now with S. Williams not signed ?

You seriously don’t know what you are talking about are you.

    • cj

      you are an uneducated moron.

    • nlruizjr

Please spare the PJ BS, I believe PJ left his last game as a loser, as he rode off into the sunset and that was a better team then we have now at this time. PJ was a “Coat-Tail” coach and is just average with average players (if that), so please spare the BS.
