Lakers Injury Update: Jodie Meeks, Pau Gasol Likely To Play Tomorrow

The theme of this Lakers season has been injuries. Guys like Steve Blake and Jordan Farmar are improving and look like they will be back in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, Steve Nash looks like he could be back eventually.

With so few healthy bodies, the Lakers can ill-afford to lose anyone else. Despite some concerns about both Pau Gasol and Jodie Meeks, it seems as if the Lakers will at least be able to suit up the nine players who have been playing the last few games, as reported by Eric Pincus of the LA Times:

This is big for the Lakers as these two have been the team’s best players this month. Meeks is averaging nearly 19 points and two steals while shooting 44 percent from three-point range in January. Gasol meanwhile, has finally begun to regain his All-Star level, averaging 20 points, 12 rebounds, and two blocks this month.

This Lakers team is fighting hard every night despite the lack of elite level talent and healthy bodies. Had the team lost Meeks or Gasol for an extended period of time, the already alarming free fall would have gotten much worse.
