Lakers Injury News: Xavier Henry Still Feels Knee ‘Weirdness’

Xavier HenryThe Los Angeles Lakers are on the verge of getting some key players healthy and back on the floor. Xavier Henry may be the first of the injured Lakers to get back on the court with the matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday being his possible return date according to Bill Oram of the OC Register via Twitter:

Henry suffered a bone bruise in his knee last month in the loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. Although the knee injury appeared to be serious initially, Henry’s bone bruise was not expected to keep him out an extended period of time.

With the Lakers dealing with numerous injuries to backcourt players including Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, Jordan Farmar and Steve Blake, Henry returning on Tuesday would give the team a considerable boost. Henry has played much better than anticipated in his first season with the Lakers averaging 10.1 points per game while being a force in the starting lineup and off the bench.

Along with Henry potentially returning to the lineup for the Lakers on Tuesday, Bryant and Nash may also be nearing their return. Both veterans could return after the upcoming road trip with the matchup against the Indiana Pacers on Jan. 28 being their first game back.
