As a veteran assistant coach of 14 years, Kuester got his first crack at being a head coach the last two years. There were reported drama in the locker room between Kuester and some Pistons veterans such as Richard Hamilton, Tracy McGrady and Tayshaun Prince.

No matter though, Kuester has said, “I’m extremely excited to be working with Mike Brown, as well as to have the opportunity to work with the Lakers, one of the premier organizations in the NBA.”
