Lakers Hang Staples Center Poster Begging Dwight Howard to Stay

The courting of Dwight Howard has officially begun. The official Lakers Twitter account today tweeted out an image of a massive banner that is now hanging from Staples Center asking Dwight Howard to re-sign with the team. In case you’ve been living on the moon, Howard is an unrestricted free agent on July 1, and is reportedly considering the Houston Rockets.

Well, this is one strategy I guess. With free agency right around the corner, it seems the Los Angeles organization is pulling out all the stops to try and entice Howard to returning to the Lakers.

hell no! take that down! it’s an embarrassment to the Laker organization. Dr. Buss would never beg a player to stay, especially one who hasn’t shown anything resembling a star.

fans should put another banner up next to it that says Leave with dantoni’s picture on it. Lakers are honestly turning into a joke.
This banner means that they are getting desperate. They know Dwight wants no part of the Jim Buss, dantoni, yet they won’t change. Dwight doesn’t care about our history, he never wanted to be here. Hoping that changes but the Lakers are running him out of town. I really hope the Lakers wake the f*ck up b/c I really believe that Dwight is going to be a dominant player but I think he’s gone. He wants Houston.

Let His LAZY ASS GO. Not a CHAMPIONSHIP MATERIAL. NO HEART, CHILDISH and DISRUPTION in the locker room and a MAJOR LIABILITY CLOSING TIME. NO NO NO.

Sign Dwight, cut Kobe. Only a fool would pay 80 million to keep Kobe. Mark Cuban is right!!

    • Richard

MArk Cuban is right? that’s the stupidest thing I have ever heard regarding Kobe. Look at his Dallas team, if you are looking fro what is wrong with a team that has won a championship. LAL has won 16 championships and you say, they are not better than Cuban?

    • Paytc

Mark Cuban had to buy the championship Dallas won. Kobe earned the 5 he has period.
Kobe has been, and still is, better for the NBA than both Howard and Mark Cuban.

#stay d12!!, we need you howard here in LAL!!!!!

Lakers! Everything that looks good from a far is not always good!

  • Chu

Let howard go and then sign Manny Pacquiao and Onyok Velasco to a veteran minimum 1 year deal. Also, Tracy McGrady and Michael Beasley. For the new center, they should get Yao Ming and Shaq out of retirement. Lakers will win not one not two not three but a dynasty!

Lakers don’t beg – Maori proverb

If I were Howard D. I would be more scared of Kobe than coach Di Antonio. Kobe has no conscience..
