The Lakers are feeling great about getting back into the playoffs and Kobe is wanting to build on their success, but things don’t end up that way as they meet the Phoenix Suns in the 1st round again and are quickly ushered out 4 games to 1. Kobe voices his displeasure with the team and begins to ask for a trade. The infamous request to trade Andrew Bynum for Jason Kidd was politely ignored, which showed how much credit Mitch Kupchak deserves for sticking to his guns.
